Donald, who attacked the British about break of day, andsucceeded finally in taking and bringing off about 400 head of cattle, 29horses, and a number of sheep, which they carried off to our Army inPrinceton. That before they left, Barkin Ridge, their tour being about toexpire, and no other troops arriving to take their place, a call was madeto know who would agree to serve longer. That your petitioner, withserveral more from Cluggages Co. agreed to stay (longer) till the arrivalof other troops, and did remain as long as it was thought necessary andwere finally discharged in Philadelphia, and marched home (near the townof Huntingdon) the last of March, or the first of April following havingspent fully three months in said extended tour. That soon after, in thecourse of the same spring, a large party of Tories to the number of about90, started off to join the Indians at Kittaning, with the intention ofbringing them in to murder the inhabitants of the frontier-that as soonas the alarm, of this attempt was raised, a party of the militia, thenumber about 150, was gathered.1
- Note: He together by Col. Buchanan, of Lewistown, Col. W. Perry of Stoney Creekand Col. Jack, of Frankstown, and marched across the AllegheniesMountains and halted at the waters of the Susquehenna, when they sent outspies, 5 of whom were shot by the Indians..that.1
- Note: He your petitioner was one of said party, during the whole of saidcampaign, and returned with the Co. to Huntingdon, having spent 2 to 3wks in said tour, and suffered much and endured many privations, theirprovision having run out on the way. That your petitioner was called on,turned at every alarm, during that eventful period, the particulars ofwhich he cannot now call to mind. That he turned out and marched in ascout down the Kisacogwillis, at the time of the massacre of Mr. Eaton -and in another up the Raystown Branch, when Mr. Elder was taken and JohnPlummer was killed whom he assisted to bury. And in another with Capt.John Shaver, to Hairs Valley, where they discovered and took severalstands of arms secreted by the Tories. And in another up the littleJuanita, after the murder of....Creon? And in another up the Narrows, after the massacre of Donnelly - and in another at the foot of theAllegheny where it was reported a party of Indians were lurking - thatyour petitioner's father and mother were forted for about five years, atthat period, at Carmichael's Fort, at the mother(mouth?) of the Auglevicand Progmores Fort, at Mill Creek. That he feels perfect safety instating that he was in actual service, 4 months and much longer; that hehas no knowledge of any of his companions, in arms, who are now living, except John Patton, esq., who was in the Regt, with him, in the tour, tothe Jersey in 1777, - that your petitioner is now in the 77th year of hisage, is poor and in need of the assistance of his country. He thereforeprays your Honorable bodies grant him such remuneration for his service,as you in your wisdom may think right., 10 March 1836, John Fee.1

Blairs's expeditionagainst the Tories, and for a while served as a private in the Army. - Note: He 'According to family tradition, four or five Fee brothers migratedseparately to America from Ireland. The Fee's were originally Scots thathad fled from the British persecution of the clans of Ireland where mostof them dropped the 'Mac' from MacAfee. It is said that among thesebrothers was John Fee (possibly the Johan David Fees' who arrived Oct 3,1753 on the 'Eastern Branch' from Rotterdam and Portsmouth). John Fee (d.ante 1801) and his wife Sarah Stuart Fee (1730-1813) finally settled inHuntingdon County, Pennsylvania. They had a son also named John(ca1759-1845) who married first to Patience Kelly; after her death hemarried Jane Jackson. This John Fee served as a private and a scout inthe Pennsylvania Militia in the Revolutionary War. Although not fullyproved, this John Fee appears to be the father of David Fee by his firstwife Patience Kelly.1'

There is no record of when John Fee came to America, when heleft Ireland, or from what part of Ireland he came.1
- Note: He John Fee, Sr. of Huntingdon County, PA, a Scotch Presbyterian, brought hiswife, Sarah, and son, John, to American sometime before 1770. The factthat his son's wife came from Maryland suggests that he might have livedthere for sometime, but he settled on the Juanita River, in HuntingdonCo. before the Revolution and is shown there in the 1791 census, as thehead of a family (Col. John?) of one male over 16, one male under 16, andone female. Before his death, (Sr) in ca 1800. he acquired three or fourtracts of land in Huntingdon County, which he left to his son. John settlednear the mouth of Raystown Branch. Since his son, Col. John Fee, was b.ca 1759, and is said to have come to America as a small boy, his fathermust have come later than 1759. John settled about a mile west of MillCreek, in the lower end of Huntingdon Co. This was about 31 miles fromAltoona, PA, at a place settled as Raystown, c. 1750, on the site of thefort c. 1750, later an important post on the Pittsburg turnpike. It wasthe place where, in 1794, Washington reviewed the troops sent to surpressthe Whiskey Rebellion. Another record says, instead of Md, John Feesettled in Mt. Union, PA, that the Juanita River location was then inBedford Co. In 1836, Col. John Fee, stated: 'Petioners father and mother, were forted for about five years during the period (ca 1777) atCarmichael's Fort, at the mouth of the Augelevic and Frogmores Fort atMill Creek.' John Fee, Sr. is buried with his son at Mill Creek, 45 mileseast of Altoona, Pa.1
