Jacob Hansen Gravrok1
M, b. 29 September 1823
Pop-up Pedigree
- Birth*: Jacob Hansen Gravrok was born on 29 September 1823 at Vigerust, Dovre, Oppland, Norway.1
- He was the son of Hans Jacobsen and Sigri Ingebrightsdatter.1
- Christening: Jacob Hansen Gravrok was christened on 2 November 1823 at Vigerust, Dovre, Oppland, Norway.1
- Marriage*: Jacob Hansen Gravrok married Brynhild Jonasdatter, daughter of Jonas Eriksen and Ingeborg Haraldsdatter, on 16 June 1844 at Melhus, Sor Trondlag, Norway.2
- Note*: Jacob Hansen Gravrok BIOGRAPHY: Jacob and Marie left Lesja as teenagers. They moved to Melhus and were servents in a large farm. They had John Jacobsen while not married. Both married someone else soon after the birth of John. Both appear to have children from their respective spouses and live quiet lives. Marie's husband dies a short time after their marriage and in the 1865 census we find Marie living with Jacob and his wife. This appears to have made the wifes brothers very mad and they took Jacob to court and had the marriage annulled. Jacob and Marie then leave the parish and I've lost them from there.
NOTE: Brynhild was a small pox survivor and 20 years older than Jacob.
NOTE: Original LDS submission had place of birth in Lesja, but subsequent research shows the actual place to be in Dovre.
- Cen-Head*: Jacob Hansen Gravrok is head of household in the 1865 Norway of Klaep, Melhus, Sor Trondlag, Norway enumerated as Jakob Hanss and is a 45 year old male. He is the landowner and he farms. He was born in Gudbrandsdalen. He has 3 cows, 4 sheep, 2 oats, potatoes 1 1/4.
